/ THE BOAT HOUSE, PLYMOUTH, DEVON /

The Boat House is a beautiful period family home in a city with a strong naval and seafaring history. Light, spacious and relaxing, it’s the kind of place you can really picture yourself kicking back, being yourself and forgetting your worries as you enjoy being by the sea.

The Boat House is in the Milehouse area of Plymouth, a pleasant 1930s suburb with its own shops and pubs, that are all just a short distance from the city centre.

If you like your history, you’ll probably be fascinated to know that the area is famous for formerly being the site of the large family home of Robert Falcon Scott, the explorer who led the ill-fated British expedition to the South Pole.

We can pretty much guarantee warmer weather than Scott experienced whatever time of year you stay in The Boat House. It’s close to Plymouth’s huge Central Park, which is home to the Plymouth Life Centre, one of the largest sporting venues in England, providing locals and tourists with a wide range of sports and activities. For football fans, Home Park is nearby, where the recently promoted Plymouth Argyle football club play their home games.

As well as all the attractions you’ll find in Plymouth, like the Theatre Royal, Plymouth Hoe, Plymouth Pavilions and the Seafront, the city is handily located to give you easy access to places like Torquay, Salcombe and Dartmoor National Park, which extends over 300 square miles and provides excellent recreational facilities.
